Wow, what a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! I hope everyone had just as good of a time as I did. I wanted to start the New Year off as organized as possible, so I am in the process of going through my closet and getting rid of anything I haven't worn in the last year, as well as jewelry. It's always so hard to throw nice, cute clothes away when you see the possibility of needing them someday. I did a pre-scan in my closet to get rid of the obvious items that I knew I won't ever wear- that was easy. Then I had to go back a second and third time and really make a decision on some items that I haven't worn in a very long time.We have a store in town that is a consignment shop, which means they buy upscale clothes, that have been worn before, and then sell them at a discount price. I plan on taking a few of the items I'm getting rid of, to the shop to see if they'd be interested in buying them from me. I think there are more of these stores out there then people realize. As a way to bounce back from the negative cash flow that the holidays may have brought you, I suggest researching whether or not your town has a store like this. It would be a quick and easy way to may a little extra cash and help you start the New Year off right by cleaning out that closet! If you find that you don't have one of these stores near you, then I would try selling your clothes on ebay. It does take a little more time, but if it's in style and good condition, I think you have a real chance at selling it. It's definitely worth a shot!
